“Balkan Off-road Marathon” is an international competition in rally-ride style and it will cross three countries – Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece.
CLASSES OF MACHINES
ATV/QUAD - without limitation in cubic capacity.
MOTORCYCLES - without limitation in cubic capacity.
AUTOMOBILES 4 X 4 - with a total weight under 3,5 tones. Without limitation in cubic capacity about 4x4.
TRUCKS – with a total weight over 3,5 tones.
COMPULSORY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MACHINES AND RIDERS.
All participants must have a valid passport and valid driving license.
The machines must have regular police registration and insurance “Green Card”
ATV / QUAD
- It is obligatory to have a kill switch device;
- Nerf bars are obligatory;
- Cross helmet, protectors for pilot, moto-cross boots and glasses;
- Police registration number and insurance “Green Card”;
- Valid medical insurance for minimum 15000 EURO.
MOTORCYCLES
- Cross helmet, protectors for pilot, Moto-cross boots and glasses;
- Police registration number and insurance “Green Card”;
- Valid medical insurance for minimum 15000 EURO.
AUTOMOBILES 4X4
T1 – CLASS EXPERT
- It obligatory to have a roll cage for the car manufactured to FIA standard ( Annex G, article 253).
- Minimum 4 point seat belts ( It’s recommended to use homologized seat belts);
- It’s obligatory to install anti-fire system in the car.
- Protective helmets according to ECE standard for the pilot and co-pilot ( it’s recommended to use homologized helmets)
- The car must be equipped with the main electrical interrupter. It must work without spark formation and it must be available to each crew member. Implementation should be in the same time with turning off the engine, without importance what type it is ( petrol or diesel).
- It’s obligatory to have tow ropes – 2 pcs;
- It’s obligatory to have First-aid kit (DIN1 3164) and warning triangle;
- It’s obligatory to have GPS which is capable to record GARMIN tracks.
- Valid FIA license for the pilot and co-pilot;
- Valid medical insurance for minimum 10000 lv.
T2 – “ADVENTURE”
- It’ s recommended to have a roll cage for the car manufactured to FIA standard (Annex G, article 253);
- Minimum 4 point seat belts;
- One approved fire extinguisher (2 kg) – ( it’s recommended to install anti-fire system in the car);
- Protective helmets according to ECE standard for the pilot and co-pilot ( it’s recommended to use homologized helmets);

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
- Tripmaster;
- Road book holder for motorcycles and quads;
- Winch with polispas;
- Tubes for fuel;
REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION FEES
Entries are open from 15/05/2009 to 15/09/2009.
Preferential period for registration and payment is until 15/08/2009.
Application form has to be filled in and sent by e-mail to the organizers. The entry fee must be transferred to a bank account of the organizer.
ENTRY FEES
Motorcycle/ ATV
- Up to 15/08/2009 – 150 €.
- From 15/08/2009 to 15/09/2009 – 300 €.
Cars 4x4 and trucks
- Up to 15/08/2009 – 200 €.
- From 15/08/2009 to 15/09/2009 – 400 €.
- Fee per one assistant car – 20 €.
ROAD BOOK
Movement in racing and connecting stages will be implemented by road book. Every evening on special briefing participants will receive a road book for the next day.
For motorcycles and ATV’s road book will be on roll.
Movement of the competitors on the route and control over speed limits will be done with GPS.
ASSISTANCE AND SERVICE PARK
The organizer will provide service park in stages with the possibility for refueling and repairing the cars.
Assistance equips will receive distinguishing stickers, road book with mentioned places for service parks and the nearest petrol stations and repair shops.
CAMP AND PLACES FOR ACCOMMODATION
The organizer does not take responsibility for accommodation of participants during the competition.
The organizer sets a place for accommodation ( bivouac, camp) with the possibility for caravans , tents and campers.
The organizer provides service sanitary facilities (bathroom, toilet) , security and lighting of the camp.
In the camp will be available professional catering.
During the period of the competition there will be available for competitors medical equip with specialized car.
